About the job
The before photos show block paving with painted timber edging, a raised slab area, a covered item and a white painted fence. All of it came out, together with the old shed, and the ground was excavated.
The groundwork photo shows the next stage: sub-base laid, a drainage channel set against the house, membrane down and fence posts in. Over the top went Indian sandstone paving, composite fencing in ash and anthracite and a small retaining wall, built and rendered, with a capping.
The shed was made to match: a composite shed in ash with anthracite trim, finished with a rubber roof system. A composite gate with an anthracite frame sits in the fence, with a channel drain below it. The last photo of the patio shows it dressed with plants and lanterns beside the white wall.

Questions about this job
Why make the shed to match the fence?
The shed is built in the same ash and anthracite composite as the fencing, so the garden boundary and the storage read as one finish.
What is a rubber roof system?
A waterproof rubber membrane laid over the roof of the shed.
