About the job

The before photos show a courtyard with worn concrete, damp-stained rendered walls and old pipework, and a house front in cream paint. The job took in the whole space: the old block walls were re-rendered, the retaining wall was clad, a new drainage channel went in and the floor was relaid in porcelain.

The paving is copper-mixed porcelain in 600x600 slabs. The drain cover is an inset lid, filled with the paving so the access is still there but the drain is hidden, and the step has a bullnosed edge. A composite decking board with a bullnosed edge was used as capping.

The photos of the render going on show the stair wall and the front side wall at the fresh stage, before the paint. The finished front of the house, repainted in a pale blue-grey, shows the rendered boundary wall and step walls.
